Living forever?

If there’s one thing that I learnt from my modules in university, it is that it is really hard to live forever. Every attempt to live longer comes at a cost, every change –be it biological or chemical– will have their consequences.

Trying to extend our lives is a hard thing to do.

So, why does this matter?

Humanity has been trying to find the cure for ageing since the beginning of civilisation, from the Fountain of Youth to the Elixir of Life.

But, should we care about the length of our lives?

I mean, what’s the point of living till a 100 if we did not make any difference to the world or the people around us during those 100 years?

I think it would have just been a waste of resources.

Maybe, we should care less about the length of our lives but care more about what we actually do with it.
