Why do we believe the things that we believe?

Belief.

It is something all of us have and it comes in many forms, shapes and sizes.

Belief can be in the form of religion i.e. structured practices like in Christianity and Islam, it can also be in the less structured form of Atheism.

Belief can also be in the form of types of governance i.e. democracy, communism, socialism and the like.

It can also be in the less defined form such as believing in the powers of the mind, certain conspiracy theories and so on.

But, have we ever stop to question our beliefs and why we believe in them?

For example, have we ever questioned our religion and the aspects of the religion? Have we every questioned why our religion see the world in the way it does?

What about our beliefs in the proper form of governance?

No, I’m not saying to doubt your religion or your beliefs but to strengthen them. But by asking the right questions you might begin to understand your beliefs better. Recently, I was a part of Islam Awareness Series 2017, an initiative to bring understanding and beauty of Islam to people who would care to learn. And I’d learnt a lot: of my religion and of the people that would love to learn more about the religion. It was a beautiful thing.

So, what I’m saying is to plunge yourselves into the depths of knowledge and forever be curious, question your beliefs, maybe they might be wrong, maybe they might be right. Who knows?
