Today I’ll be embarking on my first ever solo trip to an overseas country.
I won’t be entirely on my own though but this will definitely be something new for me.
I’ll be in a country where I know 0 of its language and 0 of its culture but I am excited.
Every action should begin with intention. So here are my intentions for the trip:
This means that I want to find out how independent I can be in a foreign country where I’m almost completely alone. Definitely I will be doing lots of reflections and thinking. A part of it is also to let go of the past which brings us to the next intention.
2. Letting go
Without the past, we wouldn’t be where we are today. However, there are definitely things in the past that we need to learn to let go so that we can move forward. Though I have largely accepted the things that had happened, there are still some things that I need to get rid of so that my heart is complete again. It has been a painful 7 months but I think I’m ready to move on. InsyaAllah.
3. Be closer to Allah
Definitely with the distance from many other familiar places and people, I would be forced to remember Him. This trip will be a constant reminder for me to remember Him. All help comes from Allah SWT.
Learn as much as possible from the culture to my books and to everything in between. Learn and contemplate a lot. May this experience be fruitful, insyaAllah.
