I write…

Oh my. I want to write so bad, I could feel my mind ticking for every moment that passes.

My fingers itched to slam down my thoughts onto that keyboard, to hear the beautiful clicking and tapping of the keys.

I couldn’t wait to share with the world, my ideas, my inspiration and my eureka moments. I. just. could. not. wait.

Therefore, as if I have an idea that could change the current paradigm of the world, I began to type.

But who am I kidding?

I ain’t Charles Darwin with years of knowledge, scientific research and adventures to back up his theory.

I ain’t Plato with philosophical ideas and stories that could wreck havoc in the minds of 20-year-olds today.

I ain’t George R.R. Martin with a creative mind that can build worlds that beautify the minds of readers.

I’m just a blogger, a passionate wannabe writer, a creative-in-progress.

Why would anyone want to listen to my ideas, my thoughts, my perspective for I have no credentials nor a reputable reputation?

I guess, I just love the feeling of typing, of sharing, of clearing my mind of the daily baggage of ideas and creativity. It does not matter if no one reads it. It truly doesn’t matter.

I write because ultimately, it is for the past me, the current me and the future me.

Maybe one day I’ll be good enough move up a level, to step out of the blogosphere and into real writing. Maybe.

Write what you want

I know… I know..

The instant dopamine rush the moment you see the likes pile up in your notifications can be very satisfying but that shouldn’t be the reason you write.

I have always strived to write whatever I want in my blog posts and the moment I steer off course, my writing would become cold and horrible. I believe in the past, there are a few examples of that (some digging is needed).

Write what you want, not what you think your readers want and when you start to write something that you are not interested in just for the likes, people can smell that crap from miles away.

Be yourself, I guess, is an awesome advice. Well, people do give that advice especially if you want to ask someone out. Maybe, there is some substance in that and thus, I guess, it applies to writing too.

Make sure that topic that you write about fascinates you and therefore, channel that fascination into your writing. Convince the readers why the topic that you are writing about it so fascinating and naturally, the likes will come!

So, write! Write about the things that you love, the things that interest you and the things that make you, you!

It has been a while

“It has been a while since I’ve seen the early morning sky with its beautiful shades of blue mixed with a tinge of white.

It has been a while since I’ve seen the orangy morning sun with its rays peeking from the clouds.

It has been a while since I’ve tasted the gasoline filled air emanating from the exhausts of vehicles running past as their drivers hurriedly make their way to work.

It has been a while since I’ve felt so busy and alive, the thought of what had happened, almost forgotten, lost, in the depths of my mind.”

On Writing

It is amazing how liberating the feeling of pen on paper is,

the carefully written strokes,

the smooth curves of alphabets,

the formation of words from intangible ideas.

It is amazing how clear my mind becomes as I write,

the thunderous crash of emotions as I transcribe my ideas on paper,

pouring out every single essence of feeling and thinking,

each word put down with a purpose,

to create a picture of a thought for others to see.

It is amazing how great writers write,

their stories full of emotions,

each part playing a larger role in keeping the reader engaged,

each line carefully thought out,

carefully curated.

It is amazing how writing connects people together,

sharing experiences and stories through the common medium of language,

allowing us to superimpose ourselves into the countless worlds beyond our reach,

allowing us, for once, to experience the world through the heart of another.

Idea: Writing a Book

I don’t know.

I have been thinking about it. It is a fun thought to have, imagining myself writing and publishing a book. The process to publish a book now seems simple enough due to the access to self-publishing and the fall of gatekeepers.

It is an idea that I have been playing with in my mind. It is one of the reasons why I am forcing myself to write a story a day on my Instagram this month.

If I am to write a book, so far, I am leaning towards fiction, sad and sappy fiction. Even though high fantasy epics are interesting but require too much world building and complex storylines which are definitely beyond my capabilities now. Well, maybe one day, I hope.

Just a thought. Maybe I might even start tomorrow. Who knows.
